What do you love about being a mother?
The pureness of the love that children give you. I'm a heart girl and live for love. My favourite part of being a mum is the opportunity to raise kind, respectful boys with open hearts, good manners, a love of adventure, and a desire to care for the world around them.
What do you find the hardest thing about being a mother?
Balancing work while being truly present with my boys. They remind me to slow down and see the world at their pace. Patience is something I work on every day, and I constantly remind myself they're only little and often just as tired as I am.
What are your go-to beauty products and favourite brands?
Rationale is my non-negotiable. We spend so much time at the beach that looking after my skin is important. I keep the rest of my routine simple with Invisible Zinc SPF, BareMinerals Hydrating Gel Cream, Benefit cheek and lip tint, and Kevyn Aucoin mascara.
How do you stay active?
Exercise has always been my moving meditation. Whether it's yoga, strength training or an early morning swim with my boys, moving every day helps me feel grounded and keeps me energised.
How do you find time to rest?
We have a little shack up the coast where life slows down completely. Empty beaches, afternoon naps and quiet mornings help us reset. Yoga, facials and swimming in the ocean are also moments I look forward to.
What do you enjoy doing together as a family?
Travelling, surfing and watching my boys skateboard. I love seeing the world through their eyes. They find excitement everywhere, whether we're staying somewhere simple or somewhere special.
Do you have any advice for travelling with children?
Don't be afraid to travel, but don't put too much pressure on yourself. We found long-haul trips easier as the boys got older. Now they're wonderful little travel companions, and we're a family that always says yes to adventure.
Where is your favourite place to escape with your family?
Hawaii, New Zealand, Byron Bay, the Mid North Coast and anywhere near the ocean. We're happiest exploring somewhere together.
How would you describe your personal style?
Comfort always comes first. I'd describe my style as relaxed with a little luxe bohemian influence. If I can be barefoot, I usually am.
Debbie wears the Three Letter Necklace.
